Women’s Business Council award commemorates WBE collaboration and industry leadership
February 8, 2019, PLANO, TEXAS — Prestige Maintenance USA (PMUSA) has been awarded the Women Business Council’s WBE of the Year Award, which recognizes woman-owned business enterprises and sustaining corporate members that go above and beyond in their commitment to conducting business with fellow WBEs.
“We are incredibly grateful we received this award, because at PMUSA, we are devoted to supporting and empowering other WBEs,” said PMUSA CEO Rachel Sanchez. “We’d like to thank the Women’s Business Council for appreciating our hard work and effort, and acknowledge our fellow nominees for their unrelenting dedication to our diverse community of women leaders.”
PMUSA is a national janitorial and facility maintenance company that employs more than 2,000 workers throughout the United States and serves Fortune 100 and 500 companies. Under Sanchez’s leadership, PMUSA has grown to become one of the largest woman-owned custodial companies in the nation. It’s been a member of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council since 2005.
Winners for the WBE of the Year Award were announced at the 2019 Parade of Stars Awards at the Omni Dallas on January 31. Including PMUSA, 18 businesses were nominated in the WBE of the Year Award category. Three awards were given in this category: businesses with annual sales under $5 million, businesses with between $5 million to $20 million in annual sales and those with annual sales over $20 million. Along with committing to fellow WBEs, winners had to demonstrate outstanding business acumen, community service and industry leadership. Other awards presented throughout the night included the WBE Rising Star Award, the WBE Advocate of the Year Award and the Corporation of the Year Award.
“This is an important award that the team is proud of,” said Kyle Orlowski, VP of Sales & Marketing at PMUSA. “Rachel really deserves this for the amount of work she puts into the WBE and practices she employs in our organization.”
